Between 1920 and 1930 Berend-Jan van der Weerd grounded Van der Weerd & Vos. Different textiles were produced in the weaving mill.

Van der Weerd & Vos specialized on weaving of terry products, like hand- and bathtowels. Products were delivered to retail and the first promotional terrytowels were produced. Also Van der Weerd & Vos was one of the first producers of terry products for institutional market and developed terry towels for rental service.

From the sixties the company was managed by Berend-Jan van der Weerd and his son Harry. With modern weaving looms production capacity and turnover increased. From 1997 Van der Weerd & Vos was managed by Harry and his son Erik .

From 2000 evolution comes to a higher speed. The name of the company is changed to WeVoTex B.V. Production is transferred to joint ventures in other countries. In 2002 the company moves to a modern building in an industrial area of Enschede.
The own production is stopped and the focus is on managing the joint ventures in the various production countries. The product range is extended with bed linen and table linen. Between 2002 and 2008 WeVoTex has a strong growth and again it is neccesary to move to a new, larger building. The existing premises have a warehouse of 3.000 m² allowing further growth.

In 2011 the business unit safety clothing/projects is established.
